The Insurance Brokers Association (IBAG) has donated an amount of GH¢200,000 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund as part of its effort to support the nation’s fight against the pandemic. On behalf of the General Membership, made up of eighty-three (83) Insurance/Reinsurance Broking firms and Loss Adjusting firms, Mrs. Lena Adu-Kofi, President of the Association, presented the cheque to the Chairperson of the Fund (Her Ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffo).

IBAG’s donation forms part of the entire insurance industry’s total contribution of GH¢1,105,000.00 to the Trust Fund, from various Associations and Institutions, including the National Insurance Commission.

Mrs. Lena Adu-Kofi took the opportunity, during the presentation, to applaud the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his team for the outstanding leadership and tremendous efforts so far, towards the fight against the menace which continues to shake most countries of the world.

In the end, the Chairperson expressed her appreciation in respect of IBAG’s donation and promised that her outfit will ensure the prudent use of the funds in eradicating the pandemic.
The leadership of the Association continues to urge its Members to adhere to all the preventive and self-protecting protocols issued by the Ghana Health Service to help stop the spread of the virus, namely, washing of hands thoroughly with water and soap; usage of hand sanitizer, which contains at least 60% alcohol; observing social distancing and using face masks.
